Teen Cyclist's Death: DTC Dwarka Bus Accident Raises Questions of Road Safety



In a tragic incident unfolding in Dwarka, a 17-year-old cyclist lost her life when she was struck by a DTC bus while cycling within her neighborhood. According to authorities, the collision resulted in the girl's bicycle becoming wedged beneath the bus's tires, leading to her being dragged for a short distance.

DCP (Dwarka) Ankit Singh disclosed that the police department was alerted to the fatal accident through a PCR call reporting the incident near Dabri powerhouse, under the jurisdiction of Dwarka South Police Station. The investigation revealed that the teenager was navigating the roadway near the Dabri powerhouse when the bus collided with her bicycle from behind, causing it to become ensnared in the bus's front right wheel, subsequently resulting in her being pulled along by the moving vehicle.

During interrogation, the driver asserted that he had lost control of the bus and that the girl had suddenly appeared in front of the vehicle, as relayed by law enforcement officials.
